Drs. Lee and Jones-Lee have developed several publications that discuss a watershed approach for evaluating the impact of cultural activities such as farming and urban development on domestic water supply raw water quality. The eutrophication of a water supply causes significant water quality problems such as taste and odors, shortened filter runs, increased chlorine demand and for some water supplies, increased trihalomethanes. Particular emphasis in their work is on the impact on eutrophication - related water quality of lakes, reservoirs and rivers caused by increased nitrogen and phosphorus loads to the waterbodies. Dr. Lee served as chairman of the American Waterworks Association Quality Control in Reservoirs for a several year period in the late 1970's, early 1980's. He and Dr. Jones-Lee have developed several publications which are available upon request. Further, they have developed a several day short course on this topic. A listing of their
recent publications, a summary of their
expertise and experience and
additional information on their activities in this topic area is available.
